Here is a list of some of the new features:
- International Language Support! - I redid everything in Unicode, so international character sets are supported
New Edit Mode Design - Edit mode has been completely redesigned, giving more room for edit options.
Note Manager - Manage and view all your notes (desktop, wastebasket, and archive) in one unified manager. Perform batch actions on groups of notes.
Super Scribble Notes - Scribble notes now can be virtually any size, are antialiased, and can be stretched.
URLs - URLs in a note are automatically made into a link after editing, allowing you to just click the link to access the site (or email address).
Quick Action Box - The Quick Action Box allows access to common note actions. It appears only when a note is selected.
Backup System - Your notes file can be automatically or manually backuped in case your notes file gets deleted or becomes corrupted.
Improved Settings - The Settings dialog has been broken up into tabs to give a more uncluttered interface.
Improved Auto-Save - The autosave feature has been overhauled. You can set it to save notes automatically at a certain interval.
Checklist Improvements - Checking an item now makes that item fade slightly into the background rather than crossing it out. If an item ends with a "!", it is then made bold and marked with an arrow to mark important items.
And Other Stuff - I'm sure there are many other features, I just can't think of them right now.
So yeah, hope you guys like it. There are a few features that won't be released until the next beta. They include:
- Printing - I couldn't get printing working in time. It should be up and running next time.
More Manager - The Note Manager will be improved to support sortable columns, a menu, and the ability to edit a note within the manager.
Icons/Art - I'd like to add some more icons to the menus and stuff. I'll also be tweaking the interface and making everything prettier.
Also, to go along with this release, I updated the web site with a new design. I think the new design feels more open and just a little more fun. Its also got plenty of "Web 2.0" gradients, which is always a plus. I'd like to know what you think of the new site, although I'll still be in the process of updating it throughout the week.
Go download hott notes 4 and enjoy. Give me feedback in the "Bug Reports" section if you find bugs, or just let me know what you think here if you have general comments. As for me, I'm going to get some sleep finally.
